Course intel
Point-to-point 90 km: from Ghost Lake west of Cochrane, through cowboy country with the Rockies in view the whole way, to transition at the Historic Ranche in Cochrane. The course sits at 1,200–1,360 m elevation, where thinner air makes the same power slightly faster; net downhill, about 480 m of elevation gain. Late July is dry and cool, but the wind picks up in the afternoon.

Speed score
Rolling terrain is where you overspend without noticing: 20 extra watts on every little rise adds up and empties your legs for the back half. Let power touch the top of the range on the small stuff and leave it there.
