IRONMAN 70.3 Encarnación
IRONMAN 70.3 Encarnación: 92 km bike leg, 861 m of climbing. Elevation profile, what the terrain asks of you, the weather this race day usually brings, and how to pace this course.
Course intel
A two-loop course in Encarnación, Paraguay: it starts on the Costanera riverside road along the Paraná and heads into the hills outside the city. The organizers call it relatively flat with a few rolling hills, but the current route file has several climbs of 50 to 80 m per lap and about 860 m of elevation gain in total. It is a community-uploaded route with uncorrected elevation, and will be rebuilt once the official bike route is public. October is spring in the southern hemisphere, hot and humid: set a power ceiling on the climbs and recover on the descents.
